This world premiere marked Chamblas’ and Nordstrum’s first opportunity to jointly stage music, movement, and visual composition as a single integrated field.
Helmed by legendary artist Kim Gordon, the work brought together live music performance and choreographic structure in a setting where sound and body were conceived as interdependent rather than parallel elements. Chamblas and Nordstrum approached the project as a fluid performance environment, where staging, proximity, and presence shaped the audience experience as much as composition itself.
Gordon’s sonic world—built from distortion, repetition, and texture—intersected with Chamblas’ choreographic language of accumulation and physical tension. Together, they constructed a live situation in which performers and space continuously reframed one another, producing a shifting choreography of attention.
